Students will create a wide range of clay creations from animal sculptures to fine clay trinkets, while developing their fine motor and critical thinking skills! Students will learn how to pinch, roll, cut and build up layers of clay to form shapes of all kinds. As they learn how to manipulate the clay, they will discover that their hands can be powerful tools.

Join us for an after-school club where our youngest students practice their skills with the computer mouse. Students will have fun playing games while strengthening their muscle memory and comprehension of clicking and moving the mouse in time with following the computer screen.


Eco Art is a class that will combine elements of Garden Club and Art while creating projects utilizing nature. Taught by both our Art teacher Rosario and our Garden teacher Carly, students will have the opportunity to gain more hands-on experience planting and tending to our campus garden. Each week, there will be activities that allow the students to engage with their environment in a new way. Children will nuture their fine motor skills and creative thinking by creating visual projects ranging from paper crafts to painted objects. Eco Art is a time for exploration, fun and joy!

In this exciting new art class students will work with multiple materials to create unique artworks while incorporating different cultures, time periods, styles and famous artists through art history. Students will enhance their critical thinking skills as well as their creativity.

In this unique course, students will explore and learn about green energy through solar technology and engineering. Students will take home a finished solar powered moving merry go round model.
In this course, students will use Bloxel Builder software and a huge amount of creativity to create characters, art, and stories that will be featured in their very own arcade games.


The Garden Club is a fun opportunity for students to gain more hands-on experience planting and tending to our campus garden. Each week, we work on activities that allow the students to engage with their environment in a new way. Your students will come home with plenty of plants, veggies, herbs, and garden-related crafts to share with their families!

In this new course, students will work on their communication skills, the ability to work alone or as a team and to think creatively. Elements of mathematics, drafting a blueprint, art history and architectural history will enhance students ability to design their dream structure.


Learn the fundamentals of volleyball with a fun mix of drills/techniques and daily scrimmage play. At each session, players will practice their serve, bump, volley, and spike. Practices will be held in a fun and team oriented atmosphere where sportsmanship and teamwork are deeply valued. Taught by Coach Lara, a Roscomare parent who was a collegiate-level volleyball player who has experience coaching this age group in Volleyball.

Maker Space is a fun DIY space for exploration and creativity. In this session, students will be encouraged to design, experiment, invent, and build. They will have room to explore their interests and develop their problem solving skills in a very hands-on, project based program.

Class & Performance Location: Main Auditorium for rehearsals and performance. Roscomare Road Elementary, 2425 Roscomare Road, Los Angeles, CA 90077
Upstage Theatre productions feature ensemble casting, and an environment for the child to find their own level in their own time. Their overall objective is for the student to feel joyful and creatively fulfilled when performing, and their hope is that all students grow in confidence, make new friends and learn new skills.


Class Description: Registration for Willy Wonka, our after-school musical production class, is for Roscomare students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Classes/rehearsals will be held twice a week on Tuesday & Thursday for 2 hours each.
The class introduces theater vocabulary and technique through interactive theater games and scene practice as well as music and dance taught by professionals. The teachers are highly qualified with many aggregate years’ experience in Children’s Theater. Each child is encouraged to fully participate and is considered an integral part of our final production. All children will be in the show. Please check the production dates below, as we expect every child to be present for rehearsals, and both show dates.

Price includes: Attendance to all classes/rehearsals, participation in the two shows. Also includes costumes, props, giftbags for the students and class pizza party. Parents may be asked to purchase a specific dance shoe or an under garment like a leotard and bike shorts but the outer costume will be provided for use during the shows. The price also includes one script with all the music (replacement of a lost script can be purchased for $20). Students will be working with a Professional Director, Choreographer and Musical Director during rehearsals. There are no make-up classes for missed classes/rehearsals, no refunds once payment is made, and students are expected to attend all classes/rehearsals and exhibit good behavior, as the rest of their cast rely on them being a participating cast member. It’s a team effort. Please note tickets to the show are not included but will be offered to cast families first- tickets are approx. $12-16. Parents are asked to help make the program a success and extra special for the children by helping with a few items related to the show.

- I understand that while precautions are in place to keep students as safe as possible, there is a risk of contracting Covid-19 and other illnesses while part of this program. While we have rules in place to limit possible exposure, participation in this program includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules may reduce this risk, the risk does exist. By purchasing this class, I acknowledge that and knowingly and freely assume all such risks.
- I understand that if my child needs to be removed from the class due to discipline issues or consistent late pickups, there will be no refund. I understand that if my child needs to be removed from the program due to discipline issues, there will be no refund. I will not pick up my child early as it will disrupt the program for all students. I must pick up my child on time (Tuesday by 3:35pm & Thursday by 4:35pm). If I am late to pick up my child, Upstage Staff will charge childcare fees.
- I understand that once payment has been made for this class it is non-refundable/non-
transferrable. Classes are also non- refundable post casting.
1. When are the shows?
The shows will be Friday, December 8th at 5:30pm and Saturday, December 9th at 2pm.
2. Will rehearsals be indoors or outdoors at Roscomare?
We plan to hold rehearsals indoors in the auditorium and some outdoors. Parents should send students to school with a hat to protect them from the sun and keep them cool on hot days. As it gets colder, students should be sent to school with a jacket.
3. How will my child get to class?
Students will need to meet at the Auditorium after school.
4. How will children be grouped?
Children will be grouped in their grade level (groups of 10-15 students) as often as possible with a single instructor. Each instructor will rotate to each group.
5. Is there a snack break?
There are no snack breaks during the rehearsal, however, students can enjoy a snack sent from home at the lunch tables after school lets out prior to the start of class.
6. Where will the shows take place?
We are prepared to have the shows outdoors with a stage, sound and some lighting.
7. How will students change into costumes if they are outdoors?
Students will wear shorts and shirts under all costumes so will not need privacy changing.
8. Where will I pick up my child after class?
Parents will drive up to the front of school or park on Roscomare Road at 4:05pm on Tuesdays and 5:05pm on Thursdays to pick up their child. All parents need to be on time as staff is not scheduled to stay after pick up.
