Dear Stakeholders of Roscomare Elementary School:

I am pleased to announce that a new principal, Dr. Denise Collier, has been selected to lead your amazing school. The Principal Selection Committee for Roscomare Road Elementary, made up of teachers, staff and parents have completed their task. They have worked as a team to review applications and interview many exceptional candidates. As one of the finalist candidates, Dr. Collier has been selected by Ms. Cheryl Hildreth, our Local District West Superintendent and approved by Mr. Ramon Cortines, our LAUSD Superintendent.

This letter is to notify you that beginning July 23rd, 2015 Dr. Denise Collier, will begin her assignment as the new principal assigned to support Roscomare Road Elementary School. Dr. Denise Collier is an experienced and successful administrator who has been an educator for the last 20 years. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and has been a teacher, adjunct professor, master teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. Most recently, she was the highly regarded Project Director for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) magnet schools in LAUSD. She comes to Roscomare Road Elementary School with a great deal of experience and enthusiasm implementing innovative curriculum, creating community partnerships, and establishing 21st century learning environments. She is excited to join the Roscomare community and looks forward to building relationships and being part of success that Roscomare has represented for the last 22 years.

I wish to thank Josie DiMarco for her tremendous work as the Principal of Roscomare Road Elementary for the last 22 years! Her legacy will continue at your amazing school. She no doubt is already enjoying her retirement.

I look forward to working with your phenomenal teachers, very involved parents, community and staff to support Dr. Collier in maintaining the high level of instruction and education that you have enjoyed at Roscomare Road Elementary School.
